Body, Movement & Metaphors:
Multiple perceptions of reality
Moved by a profound transformation on the conceptual system I used to perceive and position myself in the world, my curiosity led me to research: How do body experiences change thought processes and shape our perception of reality?
For the past eight years, the experience of creative processes as a dancer in Grupo Oito, generated a vast amount of material. An archive of residual expressions: personal and collective memories, texts, images, drawings, movement, and voice recordings.
As part of the program DIS-TANZ-SOLO, my proposition was to revisit this archive and combine it with Cognitive Science and Linguistics studies to elaborate a Metaphorical-Conceptual-Map.
The research was opened in an evening, to share the map with the audience and use it to engage an artistic discussion, provoke thoughts and hear impressions.
