“Break & Connection” opens a space that gives time to pause and paves the way for new connections. Grupo Oito investigates the break as a moment to explore other realities, to adopt new perspectives and perceive differently: to understand order through disorder, to discover the invisible alongside the visible, to bring together the secular and the spiritual. In doing so, the group continues its exploration of post-colonialism and racism and looks for ways to come together in new, anti-racist ways. To do this, the familiar is broken open and questioned – be it previous ways of working, dance conventions or even social contexts and personal attitudes. An installation setting invites the audience to make their own way through different worlds, to take a breath and to adopt new perspectives.
